Build a wooden wall tile 6 tiles from that spot.

Once designated you can right click on each tile but it s tedious it s faster to temporarily set a zone where the roof is and restrict a constructor in it the time to.
Only tested with rimworld 0 16 at the moment.

Can t remove mountain roof without mod.
Build another wall tile even further out connect with roof.
I provides a method to visually change between constructed thin rock overhead mountain or no roof on any of the map tiles in your game.
Designating such an area will also remove existing thin roofs and thin rock roofs when applied but thick rock roofs will remain intact.

Are you sure you are using the remove roof zone and not just removing the build roof zone there are 4 roof buttons in total.
Drawing a remove roof zone will cause colonists to remove a constructed roof.
So i try to remove the mountain roofs so they don t collapse by declareing a no roof area but on some tiles it will never be possible to declare that area and if i let the roof collapse and remove the debris it just collapses again presumably forever since i tried removing it 15 times and it still collapsed.
There is another designator the one with build roof in it it works like zoning expand area or remove from area and it s meant to deconstruct construct roof like you want.
Make sure there are no other walls connected to this strip of roof.
This works for any map size.
The no roof area allows the player to designate an area which will not be covered by thin roofing once a surrounding wall is constructed.

Constructors will automatically go and safely remove the roofs without risk of collapse.
Build roof that connects to that overhead mountain part.
If you mean just removing things under the roof then you need to build a pillar every 6 tiles gap at least.
