A roof collapses if there s no support rock wall within 6 squares of the tile.

If you removed 2 entire walls and the corner between those two sides last then that roof was too far away from any other supports.

A roof can extend up to 6 tiles from a wall so roofed interiors have a maximum size of 12 cells across the shortest side.

A single wall pillar will support a roof in the area around it.

These supports do not impede movement nor provide cover.
However when using the supports from this mod a roof radius will be displayed.

A pawn assigned to construction will automatically build the roof when there are enough structures in.

This was a big help because at least i now know that roofs need support and if you have large sections without any walls doors it might not be able to support a roof.

It s not the priority i am talking about though that is a nice mod for deconstructing buildings with less pain.
Right but i m talking about when i am building a big room and believe i have built enough roof supports only to find there is one or more unroofed tiles but can t find the dumb sunbeams for whatever reason.
That means the 7th tile must be supprted.
If there is any tile with is not in that range the roof will not be builded or that tile will not be builded.
